Hello visitor, how nice that you come to look at my website. My name is Nicolas Reinier Donkerbroek, born and raised on the most beautiful of the five Waddensea Islands, namely: Terschelling, Little chauvinism is part of it! At age 17 I started photographing and bought an SLR camera, an Asahi Pentax. A few years later a Mamiya 6x4.5 and a prism observer joined. I wanted to make the photos completely myself and soon all materials for the Dark Room were purchased to develop the films themselves and to print the negatives. However, in 1986 there was a shortage of space. After a move, there appeared to be no room left to set up a DOKA. And partly due to the advance of the Digital Camera, the end of analogue photography came to me. Only in 2013 did I purchase an SLR camera again, a DSRL. A Nikon D600, a semi-professional camera with a 24-70 mm, f3.2, a 40 mm f2.8 and a 70-200 mm f2.8 with a converter 2x. There came the Nikon D610 camera and a Tamron 150 600mm f / 5-6.3 Di VC USD A011N with converter x1.4 and now further expanded with a Nikkor AF-S 14-24 mm f/2.8 G ED, AF-S Micro Nikkor 105 mm f/2.8 ED, a Nikon D5 camera body and finally the AF-S Nikkor 800 mm 1:5.6 E FL ED prime lens.

I wanted to know everything about the digital camera and the techniques. Purchased the photo editing programs Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Lightroom CC. And started with the online courses Photoshop CC and Adobe Lightroom CC to learn all about how I should work with these programs. Also followed the basic course: Camera and Technique and the follow-up course: Composition and Light with the digital camera. And the online courses: 'external flash', the 'NIK Collection' and the 'HDR Photography'. All at the Rooij Fotografie -www.derooijfotografie.nl- where I also joined the PHOTO INSPIRATION CLUB. Once a month you receive assignments that follow a feedback. Also assignments for a five-month photo project. In this way you continue to develop yourself.

With Terschelling as a decor for dune, forest, beach and harbor landscapes. The Terschelling nature for photographing birds, plants and wild flowers (macro), Evening and night landscapes photography is always an exciting way in photography. So yes, with this 'Island of Inspiration' it is always fascinating and I can be busy. But also portrait photography is fun to do, as well as product photography which I have been allowed to do a few times on commission.   With this site I want to share my passion for photography with you. Have fun watching my photos. Do you like my work?
